Buzz

I’m standing in Brooke’s bathroom looking in the mirror. I just got a haircut from my childhood barber, Debbie, and I’m wondering why I let her cut it so short after I had waited so long to let it grow out so long. It is cut in a buzz cut so short that I can see red bumps on top of my head.

The sweet taste of shame

Two young boys come to the front door selling candy bars. I open up to buy one and they rush in with guns drawn. One has a pistol and the other a shotgun. They threaten Brooke and I and take over our house. The boys lock themselves into a room. I know they are hiding their guns and setting something up. I don’t know why I try to get in the room instead of grabbing Brooke and running. Later I sneak into the room and try to find their guns. I wonder if I will have to shoot one of them and how people would react if I killed a little boy. I don’t find the guns and the boys threaten us with sharp knifes in the kitchen. Brooke and I are walking through the city around the house and I stand to talk to a cop on the street out front. But I can’t, we have to get back before time is up. I think the boys are holding BP and Mel hostage but I never see them. The next time Brooke and I leave the house, we keep walking even though we have to get back. I decide to talk to the police but can’t find any. Finally we see one at the top of an escalator in a large mall. I try to talk to him but cannot get his attention. I start to cry and the cop asks if I’ve been robbed. “No, my house.” I say. I feel ashamed and afraid.

Disney bar fight

Hanging out at Disney World with a guy I don’t know. Then I’m in my apartment in Dallas, but the layout of the rooms is different. My closet is in the living room. I’m getting dressed to go to work. I pull on a pair of black slacks and notice a streak of light brown dirt on the right pants leg. I try to brush it off, but it doesn’t work. As I spread out the folds of the pant leg to try harder, I notice some something stitched into the fabric. The pants leg spreads out further to reveal that they have bell bottom cuffs. And stitched across both legs is a logo and design for Disney’s Aladdin. I wonder if that guy is in a show at the park and how I wound up with his pants.
Sam walks into the apartment and she picks up a sheet of notebook paper from the couch and begins reading it. It is a page from the notebook that I wrote my dreams in during college. After reading out loud for a moment, she asks if it’s okay that she’s reading this.
We go to a bar with a big group of people. We’re sitting on lounge couches and chairs. Sam is there, but I don’t see her. But now Brooke is there, sitting in a wooden chair at the edge of the group not really a part of it.
A big guy walks up to us, he’s not quite a biker Harley dude, but has a goatee beard and seems vaguely intimidating. Another guy comes up, obviously his buddy. They want me to throw a rubber ball slightly smaller than a baseball at them. I look down and there are now a pile of these balls, all different primary colors on the floor. The guys keep egging me on as if to get in a fight, but the balls aren’t hard or heavy enough to hurt if you threw them at someone. Also, I’m now standing at the edge of and inside a big ring of chairs like the one Brooke was sitting in. The couches are gone. I don’t see the group I was with, but I assume they are behind me. The two tough guys want to start a throwing war between the group I’m with and people that have starting streaming in the door to the bar. I don’t know if I should start throwing or not. And I wonder what the objective would be if I do.

Cable & Jazz

I’m in a day care center that looks more like a theme park store. I gather the kids in front of a wall of televisions. I go to sit down against the wall and instead of choosing the adult size rocking chair. I sit on a kid’s chair that I am too big for, I sit perched across the two arms instead of fitting down onto the seat. The TVs won’t play, so one of the women that works there is behind a counter trying to fix it. I yell out as if doing the old high school Spirit cheer, “We got scrambled, yes we do. We got scrambled, how ‘bout you?!” All the kids laugh.

Walking thru a hotel then a mall talking to a girl. Have we just left a conference?
Then I walk up a set of carpeted stairs into a nice hotel lobby. There is a jazz band playing but it is odd because the band is arranged around a grand piano that is stuck into an elevator, the man playing it is sitting with his back against the back of the elevator wall. The two elevators next to it are still operating for guests. I tip the band a dollar as I walk past. I continue through the lobby and towards an exit on the other side. As I approach the door, the song ends and the bassist thanks me for the tip into his microphone. So I drop another tip, some change, into a clear box at the door. A bald man had just dropped some money into the same box a moment before.

Action hero

I’m flying a fighter jet and an alien ship with long piercer arms is trying to grab my plane. I maneuver and roll out of its grip. I fly over top of the ship, it has long, metal legs reaching down to the ground and its long arms are still trying to grab me. I evade but crash into the ground somehow still managing to save the day.

Saved by the bell

Tiffani-Amber Thiessen seduces me. We’re in bed fooling around and the moment right before we go all the way, she gets up and opens the door. Brooke, Ashley and Michele run in with wrapped presents and happy birthday helium balloons.

Don't talk and drive

I was getting into the driver's seat of a U-haul, right as my cellaphone rings. It's Vin on the line asking when I'll be at the Park. I say "Hi, Vin" as I turn the key in the ignition. Before I can hit the gas, the truck starts rolling backwards. Which is odd because Orlando is pretty flat. I say, "Hold on, Vinny" and try to hit the brakes, but the seat is pushed back to far and I can't reach the pedals. Vin keeps yakking but I can't hear him over the sound of horns honking and trashcans and mailboxes being mowed down by my now run-away U-haul. I finally stomp on the brakes, but it does no good.
Now a cop starts chasing me, I see him through the windshield of the squad car cursing to stop. I try yelling back, "No Brakes!" and Vin says, "I didn't break it." The truck barrels through intersections with the cop in pursuit. And this steep hill I'm trying to steer down backwards just never f-ing ends. Finally I slam thing into a telephone pole and the truck finally stops by wrapping itself completely around the pole.
Then I wake up thinking, "When did I give Vin my phone number?"
So this morning, I leave for work feeling a little haggard. As I’m backing out of my parking space, an SUV comes around the corner and slams into my rear bumper. A college girl gets out while continuing the conversation she’s been having on her cell. So I say to her, “What, no brakes?”

Hot tip

I’m on some kind of a scavenger hunt or quest. And I find a horse hanging in a little convenient store type bar. I overhear a little man reporting in to his superiors that I’m never going to find it. I don’t know if he knows I’m there or not.
I go onto a boat to talk to a small town mob guy because a friend of mine incurred either 500,000 or 50,000 dollars in poker debt. And I’m there to set up a payment plan or talk him out of it. The boss sets aside part of the debt because I once gave him a hot tip on a horse that paid off.

No photos please

One of The Monkees is in my room hanging out on Spring Break. He is wearing a Disney nametag that says Brian. I get my camera, but we talk instead of taking a picture.

Challenger

I am sitting on a small plane (like a private jet) that is about to land. The space shuttle zooms past us right outside the window. The plane should spin out of control, but instead we follow the shuttle towards the landing strip. There is no wall or door between me and other passengers and the pilots. They comment loudly about the shuttle buzzing past us. I think they are just in a hurry to land before the crash and wait for the Shuttle to break apart. Suddenly I am watching the Shuttle approach the runway from the ground and am amazing and overjoyed when it lands safely.
